
CALL FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS
The 1st Hojan Science Forum will feature keynote speeches, engaging invited and contributed talks, industry and career perspectives, multidisciplinary poster sessions, interactive workshops and tutorials, panel discussions, and mentoring sessions. All presentations will be recorded and disseminated and should be delivered in an engaging and accessible style, similar to a TEDx Talk.
We invite researchers, academics, managers, and professionals to submit abstracts for any of the presentation types under the primary theme of Natural and Applied Sciences, which includes (but is not limited to): Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Computer & Data Sciences, Medical Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, Energy, and Environmental Sciences, and Multidisciplinary fields bridging Natural and Applied Sciences. Additionally, abstracts that align with the forum’s broader objectives—such as career development, science communication, DEI, and interdisciplinary collaboration—but are not directly tied to Natural and Applied Sciences will also be considered in a limited capacity.
Presentation Types

Invited/Contributed Talks: Presenting your research or project under the primary theme of Natural and Applied Sciences in an engaging and accessible way for the general public.
Note: Some of the submissions may ultimately be selected to be presented as posters, at the discretion of the scientific committee. -
Poster: Posters should be visually clear and engaging, with presenters prepared to explain their research in simple terms. Presentations will include a 1-minute shotgun slide at the beginning of the session.

Science Slam: Presenters are encouraged to creatively communicate their research or ideas, incorporating humor, storytelling, or performance to make science memorable.

Industry/Career Perspectives: Senior professionals from industry/academia share their experiences, success stories and perspectives aligned with the forum’s key objectives.

Workshops/Tutorials (by invitation only): Delivered by experienced professionals, they aim to benefit the junior researchers aligned with the forum’s objectives.
Submission Tips
We seek abstracts that prioritize clarity, accessibility, and effective communication. Unlike a traditional conference, this forum focuses on engaging a multidisciplinary audience through clear and accessible presentations.
Your abstract should:

Be clear, concise, and structured, outlining the problem, objectives, approach, and relevance.

Use error-free language that is appealing to both specialists and non-specialists.

Be written in Kurdish or English, where Kurdish is prioritized.

Align with the forum’s objectives, such as fostering collaboration, inspiring innovation, and promoting equity in science.
Abstract length for all presentation types: Maximum 400 words
Important Dates:
Submission Deadline: 31 March 2025
Notification of Acceptance: 18 April 2025
Late submission deadline: May 4th 2025 for applicants who do not require a visa with a limited capacity.
